Senior Network Automation Engineer · US · Rapid Fix Service
Send me your automation error — Ansible, Cisco NSO, CI/CD, Python, RESTCONF/NETCONF. I find the root cause in 48 hours and send a fix quote in 2 hours. Senior network engineer, government and enterprise background.
Most of these failures have three or four common root causes. I've seen them all.
Intermittent SSH timeouts. Handler ordering. Idempotency bugs. Inventory drift. Fact-gathering crashes on subset of hosts.
Commit fails silently. YANG validation errors. Device-template mismatches. Transaction conflicts under load. NED bugs.
Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket — flaky network tests, artifact permission errors, env-var gaps, Docker layer cache bugs.
RESTCONF/NETCONF auth drift, retries masking real errors, async race conditions, JSON-schema regressions from device firmware upgrades.
Manual hotfixes haven't been codified back into source. Nobody knows which config is truth.
A device firmware update, a Python dependency bump, a TLS cert rotation. Something changed underneath and nobody caught it.
Consultants charge $200–$400/hr and burn a week framing the problem. I quote flat, I diagnose fast, and I stand behind the fix.
I'm Erik Anderson. I write the automation, I fix the automation, I sign the invoice. That's the whole chain.
Network automation for government agencies and enterprise operations teams — the kind where "it works most of the time" gets you fired.
Deep in the stacks where most "automation consultants" tap out: Cisco NSO at CCIE-adjacent depth, RESTCONF/NETCONF, Python for telemetry + orchestration.
Used to urgent, security-conscious fixes. NDA-friendly. I know how to handle configs you can't email.
Veteran-owned. Author of The Autonomous Engineer. You talk to me, not a project manager. If I can't help, I'll tell you on the first call.
Initial response: under 2 hours, Mon–Fri. Root-cause audit: 48 hours once I have logs and repo access. Most fixes ship inside 3–5 business days of the audit. If your issue is a production outage, say so — I triage those first.
$250 upfront. If I can't identify the root cause and hand you a written report with line numbers and a fix plan, I refund it. In practice this almost never happens — most broken automation has a knowable cause.
Mutual NDA before anything sensitive moves. I'll work on your repo via SSH or ephemeral VPN, not on my laptop's filesystem, if you prefer. Device credentials: I accept via 1Password/Bitwarden shared item. I never email secrets.
Most audits can be done with logs, configs (sanitized), and a repo snapshot. If I need live access, I'll say so up front and we'll agree on scope. If you're in a regulated environment, say so — I've worked in those.
If the exact issue I fixed comes back within 60 days — same root cause, same failure mode — I re-fix it at no charge. New, different issues aren't covered, but repeat regressions are on me.
Stripe invoice. $250 audit fee paid upfront. Fix work: 50% deposit to start, 50% on verification. Monitoring: monthly auto-pay, cancel anytime. US companies only unless specifically arranged.
Sometimes — if the scope is network automation and I have capacity. Monthly retainers and project work are discussed after I see the environment. Default posture is flat-fee per fix.
The more detail you can share, the faster I can quote. I respond within 2 hours, Mon–Fri.
$250 flat. 48 hours. Root-cause report with line numbers. If I can't find the bug, you don't pay.
